Aviation Technical Leadership Role

We are seeking a seasoned Aviation Technical Operations Mentor to join our team at AAR. The successful candidate will have a strong background in aircraft maintenance and leadership, with a minimum of 20+ years' experience in heavy maintenance environments.
Job OverviewThis is a full-time or contract opportunity available for a period of 3-6 months. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
About the RoleThe Technical Operations Mentor will work closely with various stakeholders, including PRM, Director of QA, SMS Coordinator, and Operations Managers, to develop mentoring plans and measurable KPIs. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the understanding and navigation of technical instructions and documents;
- Communicating complex tasks to technicians in an understandable manner;
- Helping guide technicians to source and comply with company policies and procedures;
- Analyzing production programs to identify areas for improvement;
- Participating in safety management systems and reporting hazards and incidents encountered during daily operations;
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on control points, equipment, and resources.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A TCCA AME license or equivalent;
- Minimum 20+ years' experience in aircraft maintenance (heavy maintenance environment);
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a leadership or mentor role;
- Experience on B737 or ERJ preferred;
- A clear understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS);
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical maintenance documents;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
$85,000 - $115,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
