About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Envelope Design Engineer to join our team at Strata Engineering. As a key member of our engineering consulting firm, you will be responsible for leading building envelope restoration projects from investigation through substantial completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Supervise and oversee building envelope restoration projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to company values and culture.
  • Design and Documentation: Prepare engineering drawings and contract documents in collaboration with our technologists and other members of the engineering team.
  • Review and Analysis: Review architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings, as well as investigative reports.
  • Energy Modeling and Audits: Oversee energy modeling and energy audits for new construction and existing buildings.
  • Client Communication: Participate in client meetings and provide status updates, ensuring excellent communication skills and a high level of professionalism.
  • Mentorship and Training: Set a high technical standard and mentor junior staff to reach their fullest potential, delivering high-quality work.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Building Science or equivalent training.
  • Experience: Active P.Eng. designation from EGBC with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Building Envelope Consulting.
  • Skills: Knowledgeable in BC Building Codes, Parts 4, 5, and 9, with experience in preparation of tender packages, construction contract administration, and building envelope condition assessments.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, and Excel, as well as structural analysis software (SAP2000, RAM, etc.).
