We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team at Ikon Event Spaces.
About the Job:- This is a permanent position, working 40 hours per week.
As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for maintaining records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory, analyzing operating costs and other data, and supervising activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers.
You will also be expected to create new recipes, instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food, prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets, supervise cooks and other kitchen staff, and prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing menus, ensuring food meets quality standards, planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities, and training staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory.
- Analyze operating costs and other data to optimize kitchen operations.
- Supervise and manage a team of chefs, cooks and kitchen staff.
- Create new recipes and menu items that meet customer demand and preferences.
- Instruct and train kitchen staff in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food.
- Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities to ensure timely and high-quality service.
- Manage kitchen supplies and requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with clients to plan and execute customized menus for events and functions.
- Ensure all food meets quality standards and is presented in a visually appealing manner.
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
