About the Role

The Director, Marketing will lead the development and execution of the HIV/AIDS strategic business plan, supporting the tactical execution and overall promotion/positioning for the HIV franchise. This includes both HIV Treatment and HIV Prevention. The successful candidate will lead the development of the HIV/AIDS lifecycle plan and support the launch of new products/indications in the category.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-functional therapeutic team and senior marketing professionals, utilizing performance management, planning, prioritization, objective setting, recruitment and selection, meeting management, and plan execution.
  • Contribute to the formation of franchise strategy for HIV/AIDS and the overall Brand Plan and Promotional Plan for Action (POA).
  • Develop tactical plans, messaging, and communication strategy, and other customer initiatives aligned to the field sales POA.
  • Execute the field sales POA, including development of sales tools, coordination with sales training, execution of sales meetings, and driving for results.
  • Excellent communication skills, highly competent presenter, able to gain credibility, engender trust, and influence all levels, strong partnering skills, bias for action, and tangible results.
  • Organizational skill, including ability to follow assignments through to completion (bias towards execution).
  • Interact with individuals from various cultures and disciplines, resolve conflict, and drive consensus.
  • Exhibit strong executive presence, commanding respect through sound business judgment and clear decision-making.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects/priorities, perform complex budget management, and understand revenue forecasting.
  • Develop external relationships leading to brand advocacy.
  • Direct-to-Patient track record of successful pharma/biotech patient/community marketing, with an understanding of expense budget planning and tracking.
  • e-Marketing and ability to translate brand objectives into e-tactical plans.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related fields.
  • Advanced experience with product lifecycle management.
  • Advanced science degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) or advanced business degree (MBA) desirable.
  • Prior people management experience strongly preferred.
  • Direct-to-Patient - A minimum of 3 years in product marketing or advertising focused on consumers or patients required.
