Position Overview

The Director of Marketing for HIV/AIDS will spearhead the formulation and implementation of the strategic business plan for the HIV/AIDS sector, overseeing tactical execution and overall branding for the HIV portfolio, which encompasses both treatment and prevention strategies. You will guide the lifecycle management of HIV/AIDS products and support the introduction of new offerings within this category. This role requires strong leadership capabilities to establish a vision, facilitate change, drive outcomes, and manage both direct reports and the cross-functional therapeutic team. This position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing/Sales for HIV/AIDS.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Demonstrate exceptional management abilities to lead a cross-functional therapeutic team and senior marketing professionals.
  2. Exhibit proficiency in performance management, strategic planning, prioritization, objective setting, recruitment, meeting facilitation, and execution of plans.
  3. Leverage diverse information sources (e.g., market research, advisory boards, competitive intelligence) to derive insights critical to franchise strategy and tactical planning.
  4. Contribute to the development of the franchise strategy for HIV/AIDS, along with the overall Brand and Promotional Plans.
  5. Oversee the creation of tactical plans, messaging, communication strategies, and customer initiatives aligned with the field sales objectives.
  6. Manage the execution of the field sales objectives, including the development of sales tools, coordination with sales training, and driving results.
  7. Possess excellent communication skills, be a competent presenter, and build credibility and trust across all organizational levels.
  8. Exhibit strong organizational skills, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
  9. Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of leading, engaging, resolving conflicts, and achieving consensus among diverse teams.
  10. Showcase a strong executive presence, earning respect through sound business judgment and decisive action.
  11. Exhibit excellence in project management, effectively handling multiple projects and priorities.
  12. Manage complex budgets with a solid understanding of revenue forecasting.
  13. Develop external relationships that foster brand advocacy.
  14. Have a proven track record in direct-to-patient marketing within the pharmaceutical/biotech sector, with experience in budget planning and tracking.
  15. Possess e-marketing expertise and the ability to translate brand objectives into actionable e-strategies.
  16. Have a comprehensive understanding of digital media.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  2. A bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field is required.
  3. Advanced experience in product lifecycle management is preferred.
  4. An advanced degree in a scientific field (MD, PharmD, PhD) or an MBA is desirable.
  5. Extensive knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical product lifecycle management across various therapeutic areas is preferred.
  6. Prior experience in people management is strongly preferred.
  7. A minimum of 3 years in product marketing or advertising focused on consumers or patients is required.
  8. An MBA or equivalent is preferred.
  9. Experience in e-marketing is essential.
