Supervisor of Records and Information Management

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor of Records and Information Management to join our Corporate Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading our records and information management program, ensuring compliance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA), and providing expert advice and guidance to our management team and staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development and implementation of our records and information management program, ensuring compliance with FOIPPA and other relevant legislation.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to our management team and staff on records and information management practices, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and improve information governance practices and provide training and guidance on FOIPPA and records management policies and procedures.
- Act as the Freedom of Information (FOI) Coordinator, handling information requests, interpreting and applying FOIPPA regulations, and making recommendations.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing Privacy Impact Assessments.
- Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by education in Local Government Administration, Records Management, and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years progressive experience in the records and information management field, preferably in a local government or public sector environment.
- Ability to interpret and apply the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and familiarity with the Local Government Management Association's (LGMA) Records Management Manual would be an asset.

The salary range for this position is $77,314 – $96,720 (2024 rate) and will be commensurate with education and years of experience.
