Salary
$67,796 - $93,444 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Health Information Management (HIM) Advisor at Kitimat General Hospital and Health Centre.
As a HIM Advisor, you will provide leadership to your community on the collection, access, and use of health information through the development and application of health information standards in records management, release of information, and registration.
You will support and participate in evaluating adherence to HIM standards, assist in developing, testing, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing relevant health information systems and applications, and provide training services for internal and external users.
Additionally, you will facilitate organizational changes created by the implementation and ongoing use of health information systems, policies, and procedures, and travel to other sites as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Graduation from a recognized Health Information Management program
- Certification by the Canadian College of Health Information Management and eligibility for active membership with the Canadian Health Information Management Association
- One year's recent related experience in a HIMS department of an acute care healthcare facility or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- A valid BC Driver's License
