Job Description and Responsibilities

EVRAZ North America is seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to join our Canadian Safety team based in Regina. This vital role is dedicated to fostering a culture of safety and compliance across our operations. The Safety Coordinator plays a critical part in ensuring that all safety protocols are rigorously followed and continuously improved, aligning with our commitment to protecting our workforce and maintaining industry-leading standards.

  • Audit and report on department safety programs to ensure employee safety and compliance with OH&S legislation/regulations and EVRAZ Safety programs.
  • Control and manage Canadian safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and steward the Canadian Safety plan and Safety Performance reporting.
  • Coordinate and provide general support to safety committee activities.
  • Contract Management for Canadian Operations Safety Team accountable contracts.
  • Provide technical safety support to all department personnel.
  • Assist in environmental issues and compliance, as needed.
Requirements
  • Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner Certificate or greater.
  • 3-5 years experience in industrial safety.
  • Knowledge of Canadian and regional safety codes and practices.
  • Ability to build and grow relationships with a customer service mindset.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to organize and motivate teams for safe, high-quality results and maximum productivity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
