About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Water Management Technical Director to join our team in Vancouver, Canada. As a key member of our Western Canada Water Group, you will play a critical role in leading our Integrated Water Management practice and driving business growth in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development
    • Broaden our Municipal Integrated Water Management practice in Western Canada
    • Identify and develop project opportunities
    • Grow and maintain strong client relationships
    • Coordinate with staff from different business groups and regions
    • Collaborate closely with our Water Market Leader, client relationship managers, and technical service leaders to help address our clients' needs
    • Lead the preparation of proposals to GHD's clients
  • Project and Technical Director
    • Contribute to Integrated Water Management planning, strategy, and advisory projects across the water business
    • Serve as Project Director and/or Technical Lead on key projects
    • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement activities
    • Collaborate with and facilitate technical inputs from people across the GHD business
    • Guide the development of project methodologies, including technical innovations and best practices
    • Guide modeling and other technical analyses
    • Manage the preparation of technical reports and studies
    • Guide the preparation of options assessments, business cases, and investment planning
    • Review and provide quality assurance on reports and technical documentation
    • Ensure delivery quality and client satisfaction
    Additional Responsibilities
    • Leverage your strong understanding of water, sustainability, and environmental policy and drivers in British Columbia for client engagement and project delivery
    • Maintain connection with and represent GHD in relevant industry and research networks and forums
    • Provide strategic advice to our clients
    • Mentor graduate and early career staff
    Requirements
    • A seller-doer mindset and commitment to serve our clients that will contribute to the long-term and lasting growth of GHD's business
    • Excellent analytical skills, and the ability to take a holistic view of a problem
    • Comfortable presenting in front of Executive and Technical audiences
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong planning and strategy development skills
    • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision to tight deadlines
    • Proven experience leading and managing teams
    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Master's degree
    • Licensed Professional Civil Engineer preferred
    • Minimum 20+ years' experience working in the civil/public works arena with municipal, provincial, and Federal clients
