We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Water Management Leader to join our team at The ERM International Group. As a Technical Director - Hydrology, you will play a key role in leading our water management services and client base in Canada.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise to expand our water management services and client base in Canada, and serve as a key member of the technical team to drive growth in the areas of environmental impact assessment, permitting, risk assessment, water resources management, and site closure.
- Document Preparation: Lead the preparation of technical documents in your field of expertise, including hands-on interpretation, delegating work to junior staff, and serving as the senior technical reviewer.
- Business Development: Contribute to business development in our global impact assessment and planning service area, identifying and developing new opportunities, preparing effective technical proposals, and taking an active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients.
- Client Relationships: Capitalize on existing ERM client relationships to expand ERM's profile and market share through excellence in technical delivery and business development, and serve as the main point of contact for our clients.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams with other ERM subject matter experts to integrate our different types of work and communicate our collective findings to a wide range of audiences.
- P.Eng. or P.Geo with MSc/PhD in civil or environmental engineering or related field.
- 15+ years of consulting experience in water resource management, impact assessment, and permitting in the Mining Sector, with specific expertise in hydrometeorology, water balance, and/or geochemical modeling, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, and modeling of environmental water quality.
- Solid grasp of the key regulatory drivers within the mining and energy sector, as well as a high degree of technical competence and broad knowledge of impact assessment best practices.
- Well-developed team building and influencing skills, unquestionable integrity, and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address client and business needs and challenges.
- Recognized technical expertise by an established reputation in the marketplace, including positive reputation with key regulators relevant to environmental approvals.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
- Strong English writing and presentation skills.
The annual base pay for this position is $134,383 - $157,341 CAD, with an employee's pay position within this range based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary-based performance bonus.
