About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Water Resources Director to join our team in Vancouver, Canada. As a key member of our Western Canada Water Group, you will play a critical role in leading our Integrated Water Management practice and driving business growth in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Business Development
  • Develop and execute business strategies to expand our Municipal Integrated Water Management practice in Western Canada
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities with municipal, provincial, and federal clients
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Collaborate with our Water Market Leader, client relationship managers, and technical service leaders to address client needs
  • Lead the preparation of proposals to clients
Project and Technical Director
  • Contribute to Integrated Water Management planning, strategy, and advisory projects across the water business
  • Serve as Project Director and/or Technical Lead on key projects
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement activities
  • Collaborate with and facilitate technical inputs from people across the GHD business
  • Guide the development of project methodologies, including technical innovations and best practices
  • Guide modeling and other technical analyses
  • Manage the preparation of technical reports and studies
  • Guide the preparation of options assessments, business cases, and investment planning
  • Review and provide quality assurance on reports and technical documentation
  • Ensure delivery quality and client satisfaction
Requirements
  1. A strong understanding of water, sustainability, and environmental policy and drivers in British Columbia
  2. Excellent analytical skills and ability to take a holistic view of a problem
  3. Comfortable presenting in front of executive and technical audiences
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  5. Strong planning and strategy development skills
  6. Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision to tight deadlines
  7. Proven experience leading and managing teams
  8. Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Master's degree
  9. Licensed Professional Civil Engineer preferred
  10. Minimum 20+ years' experience working in the civil/public works arena with municipal, provincial, and federal clients
