Thrive Group Canada is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Therapist to join our team at St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering resident-focused therapeutic recreation programs and interventions throughout the home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement recreation programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of residents
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless delivery of services
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a high level of resident satisfaction
  • Work collaboratively with other recreation team members to plan and deliver special events
  • Encourage resident participation and engagement in recreation activities
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of recreation programs and resident participation

Requirements:

  • College diploma or university degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field
  • Experience working in a long-term care environment and knowledge of dementia
  • Strong focus on customer service excellence and ability to work independently
  • Ability to facilitate and lead groups confidently
  • Knowledge of the Resident Bill of Rights and commitment to promoting it
  • Ability to meet physical requirements necessary to carry out job effectively

  • Proven organizational and time management skills
  • Able to work independently and as a team player
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision

  • Must support MOHLTC-Ministry of Health Long Term Care standards and departmental policies and procedures
