Thrive Group Canada: Part-Time Recreation Programmer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Programmer to join our team at St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke. As a Recreation Programmer, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering resident-focused therapeutic recreation programs and interventions throughout the home.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver therapeutic recreation programs and interventions that cater to the diverse needs and interests of residents.
  • Collaborate with the recreation team to plan and execute special events and activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including MDS-RAI documentation and online attendance tracking.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in therapeutic recreation.
Requirements:
  • College diploma or university degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field.
  • Experience working in a long-term care environment and knowledge of dementia care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
