Program Therapist Part Time Long Term Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Program Therapist to join our team at DTOC III Long Term Care LP. As a Program Therapist, you will play a vital role in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs that meet the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and cultural needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement programs that cater to the diverse needs of our residents, including recreational activities, outings, and events.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure that programs are aligned with the residents' care plans and goals.
- Conduct assessments to determine residents' recreation and rehabilitation needs, and develop programs to address these needs.
- Ensure that all documentation and records are accurate and up-to-date, including program guides, participation tracking, and monthly statistics.
- Participate in department meetings, unit meetings, and multidisciplinary care conferences to ensure effective communication and collaboration with the team.
- Develop and maintain community contacts and resources to deliver programming to residents.
- Work with different community-based agencies and groups to deliver programming to residents.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, gerontology, or a related field.
- Experience working with seniors, including experience/training on GPA, PIECES, and U FIRST.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Computer literate, with experience using software applications relevant to the role.
- CPR and First Aid qualifications, with a current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check).
- COVID-19 vaccination is a condition of employment.
