Job Summary

The Salvation Army London Centre of Hope is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Shelter Support Worker to provide a positive living environment for clients, promoting independence and self-help, and ensuring that clients' day-to-day basic needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis intervention skills and support to clients
  • Collaborate with a diverse population, including mental health and addictions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources and social service providers
  • Exhibit strength-based compassionate response and excellent communication skills
  • Manage electronic documentation, databases, and email effectively
Requirements
  • Completion of a two-year College Diploma or University Degree in human and/or social services
  • First Aid/CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification or willingness to acquire
  • Understanding and support for a Housing First philosophy and issues relating to housing stability
