Role Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Genetic Counselor to join our team. This role involves working directly with patients, laboratory teams, and healthcare providers to assess individual or family genetic risk factors, provide guidance on genetic testing, and support patients through the results and implications of testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct comprehensive genetic assessments for patients based on family and medical histories.
  2. Provide individualized counseling to help patients understand genetic risks and make informed decisions.
  3. Educate patients on available genetic testing options, including risks, benefits, and limitations.
  4. Interpret genetic testing results and communicate findings to patients and healthcare providers in a clear, accessible manner.
  5. Collaborate with laboratory teams and healthcare providers to integrate genetic findings into personalized care plans.
  6. Document patient interactions, assessments, and findings in an accurate and timely manner.
  7. Stay updated on developments in genetics, genetic counseling, and related healthcare fields. Participate in continuing education and stay current on genetics and genetic counseling developments.
Required Qualifications:
  1. A Master's degree in Genetic Counseling or a related field from an accredited program.
  2. Certification by the American Board of Genetic Counsellors (ABGC) or equivalent.
  3. Professional knowledge of rapidly changing principles and practices in medical, clinical, and laboratory genetics.
  4. Strong oral and written communication skills to convey complex information to patients in a sensitive and supportive way.
  5. Two years of experience in a clinical or healthcare setting is preferred.
Compensation:

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
