HR Payroll Specialist

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a highly skilled HR Payroll Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our HR Support Services team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of bi-weekly and off-cycle pay runs for over 12,000 employees.
Key Responsibilities- Process payroll for a large and complex organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Act as a key resource for payroll-related inquiries and escalations, providing timely and accurate resolutions.
- Collaborate with the HR Operations team to ensure accurate processing of HR and pay-related activities.
- Develop and implement process improvements and system changes, including end-to-end testing.
- Provide exceptional client service and support to employees and management.
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification considered an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of payroll-related legislation, theory, processes, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of payroll and human resources operations, including benefits, compensation, and pensions.
- Legislative knowledge relevant to payroll, including but not limited to: Employment Standards Act, Employment Insurance Act, Canada Pension Plan Act, Income Tax Act, etc.
- Strong orientation to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
- Proven ability to multi-task with competing priorities to ensure responsibilities are fulfilled, often within tight timelines.
