Job Summary

The HR Payroll Administrator plays a vital role in supporting the payroll function at Hamilton Health Sciences. This position is responsible for providing payroll support and assistance for bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll processing, as well as completing Record of Employment biweekly and triaging inquiries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll for bi-weekly and off-cycle pay periods
  • Complete Record of Employment biweekly
  • Triage inquiries and respond to clients in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist with pay audits, data validations, and clean-up initiatives
  • Perform various administrative tasks to support effective and efficient operations within the payroll program area
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Community College diploma in Accounting, Payroll Administration, Business, or a related field
  • Completion of Payroll I and II courses (Canadian Payroll Association) preferred
  • Minimum 1 year payroll processing and administration experience
  • Minimum 1 year data entry/data management experience
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a client/customer-facing role
  • Basic knowledge of payroll-related legislation, theory, processes, and reporting
  • Understanding of human resource/payroll-related software such as PeopleSoft and/or Oracle Cloud
  • Intermediate capabilities in Excel and other MS office applications
  • Knowledge and skills in general office administration and processes
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance environment
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and problem-solving skills
