Overview
Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division is seeking a Hardware Director to lead our global hardware organization. As a strategic visionary, you will provide the vision and leadership to shape the future of our hardware organization, driving innovation and excellence in product development and life cycle support.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Hardware Engineering to develop key strategies and drive collaboration across Hexagon divisions.
- Set the vision and goals of the hardware organization, ensuring teams understand and focus on meeting them.
- Lead global teams to ensure effective collaboration and interaction within product development, operations, and product management teams.
- Directly interact with manufacturing and supply chain leaders to address key issues and prioritize life cycle processes.
- Mentor technical staff to evolve their skills and experience, ensuring product development projects meet project parameters and mitigate risks.
- Direct involvement in development and pre-development project planning, reviews, and approvals.
- Support teams with project and resource priority decisions.
- Actively monitor field quality and establish corrective actions when required.
- Drive continuous improvement and consistency of development and risk processes.
- Collaborate with Engineering Directors to establish effective budgeting, planning, strategy alignment, and engineering processes.
- Mentor the HW architect and evolve 'system thinking' within the Mining engineering team.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
- 10+ years' experience in leading high-technology teams and products, with a focus on hardware and embedded products.
- Clear understanding of effective hardware design processes in new product development and life cycle support.
- Strong upward and downward written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative and strong desire for continuous improvement.
