**About the Role**

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Healthcare Program Coordinator to join our team at the Canadian Red Cross. As a key member of our Community Health department, you will play a vital role in coordinating the delivery of our Health Equipment Loan Program.

**Job Summary**

The Healthcare Program Coordinator will work closely with our Occupational Therapist to coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Health Equipment Loan Program, including the Specialized Equipment Program and Transitional Care Unit pilot expansion. This will involve liaising with hospitals and long-term care facilities to ensure timely delivery and pickup of equipment, maintaining inventory records, and coordinating administrative functions such as financial transactions and information flow to the public.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of the Health Equipment Loan Program, including the Specialized Equipment Program and Transitional Care Unit pilot expansion.
  • Liaise with hospitals and long-term care facilities to ensure timely delivery and pickup of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records on equipment loans, returns, and statistics in accordance with program policies.
  • Coordinate administrative functions such as financial transactions and information flow to the public.

**Requirements**

  • Post-secondary education or diploma in a health-related field, combined with one to two years of job-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Background as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or Rehabilitation Assistant is an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple issues simultaneously in a complex client-based environment.
  • Sound decision-making abilities and strong organizational skills are essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, in English are mandatory.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and administrative skills.
  • Previous experience working with volunteers and seniors is considered an asset.
  • Ability to perform medium to heavy lifting.

**Working Conditions**

  • Valid driver's license to travel within Nova Scotia and a satisfactory driver's abstract is required.

**Salary and Benefits**

The salary range for this position is $21,090 - $26,363 per year. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental coverage, and a generous paid time off policy.
