Healthcare Support Specialist

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, you will work under the supervision or direction of regulated health professionals to provide direct, hands-on care based on patient needs. As a member of the collaborative care team, your role involves supporting patients' activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living.
You will reinforce patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and the plan of care. This position requires effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, as well as the ability to work with diverse patients and their families.
A key aspect of this role is providing support to patients who require assistance with daily tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and eating. You will also be responsible for promoting patient independence and autonomy within safe and supportive environments.
About You- You have completed the Continuing Care Assistant Program and hold provincial certification from the Department of Health and Wellness. Registration with the CCA Registry is mandatory.
- You possess current Basic Life Support Certification and demonstrate effective listening skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in other languages is an asset, particularly French.
This part-time (40%) position offers a competitive hourly rate of $23.71-$25.70. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
Working ConditionsThis role involves working varying shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. A 30-hour bi-weekly schedule is estimated, with some flexibility depending on operational requirements.
