Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Second Cook to join our culinary team at Easton's Group of Hotels. As a Second Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing meals that exceed our guests' expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals in accordance with portion and quality standards specified in recipes, ensuring that our guests receive high-quality food items in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean kitchen by cleaning all work surfaces used in food preparation on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure a clean, neat, and well-organized work area, including but not limited to reach-ins, walk-ins, and counters, and report any unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to your supervisor.
  • May maintain supplies and equipment for service at the station areas.
  • Advise your supervisor of low inventory items and problems related to equipment, food quality, portions, etc.
  • Perform receiving and inventory duties as specified by your supervisor; stock supplies as requested.
  • Assist cooks and may assist stewards during peak activity periods.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments, including Catering, Banquets, Outlets, Maintenance, and Guest Services.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow recipes.
  • May assist with other duties as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent plus one year of experience in food preparation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Some college preferred.
  • Friendly and hospitality-focused.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
