Seeking a qualified Information Literacy Specialist to support the delivery of curriculum and promote information literacy in our schools. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment, and we welcome applicants from diverse communities, backgrounds, and identities.

As an Information Literacy Specialist, you will play a key role in helping patrons locate and use relevant print and electronic resources. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a physical collection, shelving materials, and performing shelf-reads to ensure materials are organized correctly.

In addition to these duties, you will facilitate book exchanges, literacy initiatives, and readers' advisory services. You will also provide orientation and training to students and staff on library services and literacy activities through web pages and newsletters.

Your expertise in cataloguing and inventory processes will be essential in maintaining bibliographic records and undertaking regular inventories of the library collection. You will also be responsible for promoting library services and literacy activities within the school and parent community through various channels.

We require a Library Technician Diploma holder with one to two years of experience working with children in a school or public library setting. You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to plan work, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively.

The salary range for this position is $30.86 - $32.48 per hour. The permanent full-time position involves working 35 hours per week, with a schedule determined by the Administrator. Approximately 42 weeks per year are worked, and the location is Holy Rosary Catholic Elementary School in Waterloo, ON.
