At Systematix Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to take on the role of Automation Specialist and contribute to the design of innovative automation machinery.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000-$110,000, depending on location and experience.

Job Description:

As a Senior Mechanical Designer - Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for designing automation machinery based on customer requirements, company standards, and supervisor input. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing automation machinery using CAD software, ensuring that designs meet customer expectations and can be manufactured within budgeted time and costs
  • Working with customers, sales teams, project managers, and supervisors to review initial concepts and ensure alignment with customer needs
  • Sourcing and qualifying purchased mechanical, sensing, pneumatic, and hydraulic components
  • Compiling Sequence of Operations, I/O List, Pneumatic BOM, and Valve Bank Layout
  • Checking and releasing BOMs to Purchasing
  • Collaborating with programmers to create working programs
  • Mentoring junior-level Mechanical Designers

You will also be responsible for effectively presenting information, responding to questions, and communicating with customers and internal team members.

Autonomy and Authority:

As a Senior Mechanical Designer - Automation Specialist, you will have the autonomy to work independently on specific assignments, receive assistance on unusual problems, and work progress will be under periodic review. You may be responsible for designing single stations on complex lines or entire standalone machines of simpler nature.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Technologist Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • A minimum of 2 years of Mechanical Design experience or equivalent
  • A valid passport and driver's license, as well as the ability to travel to customer sites both locally and internationally
