As a Certified Support Care Specialist with Extendicare Canada Inc., you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional care and support, and we are seeking compassionate individuals who share our vision.
**Estimated Salary:** $25.50 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience.
In this rewarding role, you will provide direct personal support and care to patients, meeting their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual needs in accordance with established policies, procedures, and work routines. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities such as ambulation, feeding, bathing, and grooming.
**Requirements:
- Completion of a PSW Program or HCA/CCA certification that meets the appropriate standards for the position.
- Current registration with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
- Experience in Long Term Care or community home care settings, preferably with exposure to dementia and palliative care.
- Knowledge and experience in care planning systems and documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, residents/patients, and families.
- Capability to provide care in accordance with legislation, job routines, nursing care plans, and ability to read and write English and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
- Prior experience working independently in Community Home Care is an asset.
