Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our Acute and Critical Care team. As an Advanced Respiratory Care Specialist, you will work to full scope of practice providing respiratory care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to assist in the diagnosis and management of patients of all ages with cardiopulmonary and related disorders.

You will actively participate in the education of patients, students, staff, and physicians; contribute to department and/or service area process improvement; maintain a professional and accountable practice; advocate professionally and effectively for patients using the principles of patient and family-centered care; and provide technical support for all Respiratory Therapy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients and develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to enhance clinical outcomes
  • Provide training and assistance to healthcare providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA)
  • Basic Life Support - Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification
  • Recent Acute and/or Critical Care experience within the past 5 years
  • Recent Critical Care Respiratory experience within the past 5 years
  • Current NRP certification
  • Current PALS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Competency in Arterial line insertion and Adult intubation
Compensation Package

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

This compensation package reflects the skills and expertise required to excel in this role, while also considering the cost of living in Lethbridge and the surrounding area.
