Tile Setter

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Trusser Construction. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered with tile, as well as mixing, applying, and spreading mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare rough plans and sketches to visualize tile layouts
- Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base
- Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
- Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
- Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
- Supervise other workers and instruct apprentices
- Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs
- Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets
- Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite
- Estimate costs and materials for tile installations
- Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces
- Install tile strips
- Physically demanding work environment
- Bending, crouching, kneeling required
- Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination essential
- Large workload and overtime required
