Tile Setter

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Trusser Construction. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered with tiles. You will also mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel. Additionally, you will prepare rough plans and sketches, set tiles in place, and apply pressure to affix them to the base. Your tasks will also include cutting and fitting tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools, instructing apprentices, packing grout into joints between tiles, and removing excess grout. You will also be responsible for removing and replacing cracked or damaged tiles, supervising other workers, laying and setting mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs, building underbeds, and installing anchor bolts, wires, and brackets. You will work in a physically demanding environment, requiring attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work under pressure. The successful candidate will have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the field. The work setting will be various locations, and the work term will be permanent. The work language will be English, and the hours will be 40 hours per week.
