Job Overview

The Open Text Corporation is seeking a skilled Strategic Mergers and Acquisitions Professional to join its Corporate Development group. This role will involve providing analysis, research, due diligence, and post-close activities to support existing and new corporate development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business units, functional leaders, and senior management to analyze acquisition opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain financial modelling tools to evaluate acquisitions, investments, and divestitures.
  • Create clear presentations summarizing analysis and recommendations for decision makers.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly reporting of financial results for past acquisitions.
  • Research and present potential new business opportunities to senior management.
  • Monitor and report on industry and company events.
  • Assist in developing corporate strategy materials.
  • Support ad-hoc requests related to corporate development.
Requirements
  1. Possess an MBA or equivalent degree.
  2. Have a minimum of three years of experience in a Corporate Development role within the software industry.
  3. CFA designation is considered an asset.
  4. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of accounting principles and concepts.
  5. Familiarity with SAP-based financial planning tools is required.
  6. Ability to work in an uncertain environment and make decisions with incomplete data.
  7. Be prepared to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
