About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Community Support Worker to join our team at WJS Canada. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health issues, or brain injuries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote the goals and aspirations of our clients.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to clients, encouraging them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Assist clients with daily living skills, such as household chores, meal preparation, and personal care.
  • Model healthy relationships and boundaries, promoting positive behaviors and social skills.
  • Transport and accompany clients to appointments, shopping, and leisure activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in a relevant field, such as Child and Youth Care, Psychology, Social Work, or Disability Studies.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health issues, or brain injuries in a community-based setting.
  • Valid BC Driver's Class 5 License and clean driver's abstract.
  • Positive behavior supports experience and Trauma-informed care an asset.
  • Valid CPR/First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate (Mandt), and Conflict Resolution Certificate (or ability to obtain within probation period).
