About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Community Support Worker to join our team at WJS Canada. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health issues, or brain injuries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote independence and well-being
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to clients, encouraging them to reach their goals and celebrate their successes
  • Assist clients with daily living skills, such as household chores, meal preparation, and personal care
  • Transport clients to appointments, shopping, and leisure activities, ensuring safe and legal transportation
  • Model healthy relationships and boundaries, promoting positive behavior and social skills
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in a relevant field, such as psychology, social work, or disability studies
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in adult, child, and youth care, or with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health issues, or brain injuries
  • Valid BC Driver's Class 5 License and clean driver's abstract
  • Positive behavior supports experience and trauma-informed care an asset
  • Valid CPR/First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate (NVCI, Mandt or CPI), and Conflict Resolution Certificate (or ability to obtain within probation period)
