Residential Community Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Community Support Worker to join our team at WJS Canada. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health issues, or brain injuries.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote the goals and aspirations of our clients.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to clients, encouraging them to overcome challenges and celebrate their successes.
- Support clients in developing life skills, including household chores, meal preparation, and community participation.
- Model healthy relationships and boundaries, promoting positive behavior and well-being.
- Transport clients to appointments and participate in recreational activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Diploma or degree in a relevant field, such as Child and Youth Care, Psychology, Social Work, or Disability Studies.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in adult, child, and youth care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health issues, or brain injuries.
- Valid BC Driver's Class 5 License and clean driver's abstract, with a reliable and safe vehicle.
- Positive behavior supports experience and Trauma-Informed Care an asset.
- Valid CPR/First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate, and Conflict Resolution Certificate (or ability to obtain within probation period).
