Job Title: Landscaping Supervisor

Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Landscaping Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire, Supervise, and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of 3-4 staff members and ensure they have the necessary skills and training to perform their duties.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement plans for grounds maintenance, including lawn care, tree service, and landscape construction.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Estimate the resources required for projects and ensure that they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Plan, Manage, and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Oversee the construction of new landscapes, including planning, budgeting, and supervising the work.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Keep accurate records of work completed, including hours worked, materials used, and any issues that arose.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment, and Supplies: Source and procure the necessary materials, equipment, and supplies for projects.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice, and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Troubleshoot issues that arise during projects and provide guidance to staff to improve productivity and quality.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement schedules and procedures for staff to follow.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in landscaping or a related field.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Experience with small engine equipment, sod cutters, and tractor mowers.
  • Area of Specialization: Lawn care, tree service, grounds maintenance, and landscape construction.
  • Security and Safety: A criminal record check is required.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: The ability to handle heavy loads, work in physically demanding conditions, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Personal Suitability: A team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
