Job Summary:

To install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and inspection, to prevent equipment failure and downtime.
  • Diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including pumps, valves, and actuators.
  • Installing new equipment, including water, air, and other supply lines, while adhering to safety codes and regulations.
  • Fabricating new or replacement components, adhering to supplied drawings and verbal instructions.
  • Maintaining production equipment to maximize operating performance, and helping to maintain mechanical spare parts inventory levels as required.
  • Performing repairs on equipment, restoring it to proper and safe working conditions.
  • Recognizing and diagnosing faults on mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic components or systems, and seeking assistance from managers or supervisors as needed.
  • Testing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and components for effectiveness.
  • Informing maintenance managers or supervisors about changes in schematics, and updating original diagrams.
  • Making trade-specific calculations for load requirements, and selecting appropriate sizes or grades of components.
  • Adhering to work order, preventive, and predictive maintenance systems by filling in required forms.
  • Reading, writing, and sketching hydraulic, pneumatic, fabrication, and assembly-type drawings.
  • Performing LOCK OUT/TAG OUT procedures 100% of the time on machines or machines being serviced.
  • Ensuring production schedules are not jeopardized due to machine breakdowns or unsafe operating conditions.
  • Performing installation, setup, modification, and relocation of equipment to accommodate or improve production requirements.

Working Conditions:

100% plant floor (PPE required).

Physical Demands:

  • Requires communication with employees, peers, and management.
  • Lifting and pushing as needed.

  • Must work in accordance with health and safety regulations, company rules, plant rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices, or certain clothing as required by the company.
  • All employees are prohibited from walking under a suspended hoist, cranes, or forklifts.
  • All employees must follow all LOTO procedures.
  • Comply with all environmental requirements, including our recycling program.
