Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and product quality by ensuring the functionality of machinery and mechanical systems.

This position is based in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Performing preventive maintenance on pumps, gearboxes, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other production machinery to ensure operational efficiency.
- Diagnosing issues by observing mechanical devices in operation and utilizing precision measuring instruments.
- Dismantling devices to remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand tools.
- Inspecting used parts to determine dimensional changes and using measuring instruments for accuracy.
- Adjusting functional components and control instruments with hand tools.
- Fabricating repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
- Efficiently utilizing maintenance resources to achieve job results.
- Compiling mechanical maintenance reports through data collection and analysis.
- Cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machinery and equipment.
- Cutting and welding metal for repairs and fabrication of new parts.
- Maintaining the operational condition of industrial production machinery.
- Assisting in planning and closing work orders in the maintenance management system.
- Documenting parts and materials used, and managing requisitions for new supplies.
- Ensuring effective communication among work teams regarding actions and ongoing needs.
- Upholding a safe and clean work environment by adhering to established procedures and regulations.
IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Hold a valid Ontario Industrial Mechanic License 433A (Red Seal Certificate of Qualifications).
- Possess a complete set of metric standard tools.
- Have experience with mechanical devices, pneumatic controls, and welding/cutting techniques.
- Bring a minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Be capable of reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
- Be available to work shifts, including extended hours and weekends.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Be comfortable walking and/or standing for 70-90% of the shift.
- Be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
