JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and product quality by ensuring the functionality of machinery and mechanical systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Performing preventive maintenance on pumps, gearboxes, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other production machinery to ensure operational reliability.
- Diagnosing issues by observing machinery in operation, listening for irregularities, and utilizing precision measuring instruments.
- Dismantling devices to remove defective components using hoists, cranes, and hand tools, while assessing the condition of parts.
- Inspecting used parts to determine necessary dimensional adjustments using measuring tools such as rules, calipers, and micrometers.
- Adjusting functional components and control instruments with hand tools and precision instruments.
- Fabricating replacement parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
- Utilizing maintenance resources efficiently to achieve job objectives.
- Compiling mechanical maintenance reports by gathering and analyzing operational data.
- Cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machinery and equipment as required.
- Cutting and welding metal to repair or fabricate parts and assemble new equipment.
- Maintaining the operational condition of industrial production machinery.
- Assisting in the planning and closure of work orders in the maintenance management system.
- Documenting parts and materials used, and managing requisitions for new supplies as needed.
- Ensuring effective communication among work teams regarding actions taken and ongoing needs.
- Upholding a safe and organized work environment by adhering to established procedures and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Ontario Industrial Mechanic License 433A (Red Seal Certificate of Qualifications)
- Complete set of metric standard tools.
- Experience with mechanical systems, pneumatic controls, and welding/cutting techniques.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to interpret mechanical schematics.
- Willingness to work shifts, including extended hours and weekends.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand or walk for 70-90% of the work shift.
- Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces.
