Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Event Supervisor to join our team at the Four Corners Library in Brampton, ON. As an Event Supervisor, you will provide uniformed security supervision for all contract guards working at various high-profile corporate locations in Brampton facilities, properties, and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure contract guards assigned to work at the city meet the mandatory skill set required to work at the assigned location.
  • Verify that contract guards assigned to work at the city are licensed, have completed the required training, and are in proper uniform.
  • Arrange and review site-specific training with contract security guards.
  • Perform random checks of guards to ensure their knowledge and performance meet city expectations.
  • Respond to major incidents, ensuring guards respond and document their observations, findings, and actions appropriately.
  • Review incident reports submitted by guards to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Initiate disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Complete daily briefs to Security Services Management and other personnel.
  • Complete patrols with the use of an electronic guard tour software.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the city.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of Security Guard experience in a municipal government or corporate environment.
  • Minimum three years of Supervisor experience.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including customer service skills.
  • Valid Security License for the Province of Ontario.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Valid G Class License and a clean abstract.

Physical Demands

  • Excessive walking, standing, exposed to all weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
  • Utilize two-way radio and computer applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills required; bilingual and multilingual applicants preferred.
  • Must participate in professional development and on-site leveling system requirements.
  • Must be flexible with shift availability (security operates 24 hours/day).
  • Previous experience or training within a loss prevention/security field is preferred.
  • Must complete all required site training within 30 days of on-site hire date.
  • Additional job-related tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Successful completion of CPO certification within the first six months (training material and course cost covered by Paladin).

  • Standard First Aid.
  • CPR Level C.
  • Valid Ontario Security License.
