POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Team Supervisor will report directly to the Operations Supervisor and is tasked with executing various warehouse operations roles, including order fulfillment, inventory replenishment, shipping, receiving, and inventory audits. In addition to performing diverse warehouse functions, the supervisor will assist in overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring that best practices are recognized and followed by all team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute multiple warehouse tasks, including receiving, order fulfillment, inventory replenishment, audits, and shipping to ensure timely completion of daily operations while meeting customer service standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to facilitate the efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Provide training and motivation to team members, ensuring tasks are completed safely, consistently, and efficiently.
  • Offer peer support for on-the-job training of new employees.
  • Encourage adherence to approved warehouse operating procedures for material handling equipment (MHE), including inspections, damage control, replenishment, cleanliness, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and inventory audits, escalating issues to the operations supervisor as needed.
  • Lead daily shift briefings, addressing team member concerns effectively.
  • Propose and assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the technical expert for workflow processes and RF scanning for team members.
  • Ensure immediate action on RF IT-related issues, including logging incidents and following up.
  • Foster teamwork through positive two-way communication.
  • Assist the operations supervisor in monitoring daily productivity and quality objectives.
  • Complete daily shift reports and review them with the operations supervisor before the end of the shift.
  • May be required to work various shifts during peak periods or to cover for absences to maintain customer service levels.
  • Oversee operations in the absence of the supervisor.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of three (3) years of warehouse experience operating material handling equipment (MHE) with a strong safety record.
  • Previous experience with RF-based Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferably Red Prairie.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of a secondary school diploma is preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to engage in training and development programs as necessary.
  • A college diploma in Logistics Management is an asset.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • Forklift Certification from a recognized training provider. Experience and certification in one or more of the following equipment: Raymond Reach, Dock Stocker, Counterbalance, and/or Walkie (MHE is site-specific).
