About this Opportunity

At Royal Bank of Canada, we seek a seasoned professional to lead our Fraud Management team. As a Strategic Fraud Management Lead, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to mitigate fraud risks across our Commercial credit card and Retail debit card portfolios. This role requires a deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, customer needs, and the ever-changing fraud landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Fraud Strategies
    • Collaborate with business partners and stakeholders to identify and mitigate fraud risks
    • Design and implement anti-fraud tools and processes to prevent and detect fraudulent activity
    • Monitor trends and analyze large fraud cases to inform strategic decisions
  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams
    • Work closely with Fraud Data Analytics & Insights, Operational Excellence, Fraud Operations, IT, and LOB owners to design and implement anti-fraud solutions
    • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across teams to deliver strategic objectives
  • Ensure Operational Efficiency
    • Develop and maintain Fraud Management processes to ensure relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability
    • Identify key controls needed to mitigate fraud loss and ensure their implementation
  • Provide Strategic Insights
    • Present updates to senior management on Fraud Metrics, Strategy, and Risk Appetite
    • Collaborate with CIS, Cyber, and Operations Excellence to surface emerging internal fraud trends, risks, and detection mechanisms

Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience in the Financial services industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on complex problems and identify creative alternatives
  • University degree or equivalent work experience

Salary Range

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience
