Job Summary:

This temporary full-time position as an Assessment Specialist - Local Improvement offers a unique opportunity to join our team and make a meaningful contribution to the City's efforts in assessment and local improvement services.

About the Role:
  • Under the supervision of the Manager of Customer and Assessment Services, this role will process Assessment Review Board Decisions, Local Improvement and Special Assessment charges for the Tax Roll, ensuring accurate and timely adjustments.
  • The successful candidate will prepare and process Local Improvement petitions and initiations, including notifications to property owners, and maintain the computer master file of all local improvement, drainage, and other charges.
  • Responsibilities also include processing vital service notifications and related documents for tax adjustments, preparing Local Improvement Special Assessment Rolls, and coordinating the scheduling of the Court of Revision.
  • This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a related field or completion of a two-year Community College Business Administration Diploma.
  • Unit 1 of the Municipal Tax Administration Program (MTAP) is a required skill.
Compensation:

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $45,891 - $63,961, based on the level of experience and qualifications.
