Family Support Network Opportunity

Wood's Homes is a leading mental health centre dedicated to building good mental health and well-being in communities. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Family Support Counsellor I to join our Family Support Network program.

Role Summary

The Family Support Counsellor I will be responsible for delivering family support services to children and families in our care. This includes in-home support, school liaison, and community coordination as needed. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional service delivery and adherence to our Health and Safety Management System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct program-related assessments and establish goals with families.
  • Advocate for families and support the development of a network of resources.
  • Provide parent skills training and individual and family counselling.
  • Ensure the safety of all family members by intervening in crisis situations and providing follow-up care.
  • Participate in supervision, case reviews, and team meetings to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Report workplace hazards and incidents to their supervisor.

Requirements

  • Degree in Human Sciences, Childcare, or a related field.
  • Minimum two to four years' experience working with infants, children, and families.
  • Family and in-home support experience preferred.
  • Case Management experience is preferred.
  • Full, non-GDL class 5 driver's license and own transportation.
  • Personal suitability.
