Family Support Network - Counsellor, Family Support I

At Woods Homes, we are committed to building good mental health and well-being for everyone in our community. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Family Support Counsellor I to join our Family Support Network program.

Role Summary

The Family Support Counsellor I will work closely with children and families to provide support and guidance in their homes, schools, and communities. This role requires a strong understanding of family dynamics and the ability to build trust with families. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality family support services, including in-home support, school liaison, and community coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and develop goals with families to ensure effective support.
  • Advocate for families and connect them with community resources and services.
  • Provide individual and family counselling to support family well-being.
  • Attend to the safety of all family members and intervene in crisis situations as needed.
  • Participate in regular supervision, case reviews, and team meetings to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Report workplace hazards and incidents to their supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Sciences, Childcare, or a related field.
  • Minimum two to four years' experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
  • Family and in-home support experience preferred.
  • Case Management experience is preferred.
  • Full, non-GDL class 5 driver's license and own transportation required.
