Family Support Network - Counsellor, Family Support I
At Wood's Homes, we're dedicated to building good mental health and well-being for everyone in our community. We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Family Support Counsellor I to join our Family Support Network program.
Role Summary
The Family Support Counsellor I will work closely with children and families to provide in-home support, school liaison, and community coordination as needed. This role requires exceptional delivery of high-quality services and adherence to our Health and Safety Management System.
Responsibilities
- Conduct program-related assessments and establish goals with families.
- Advocate for families and support the development of a network of resources.
- Provide parent skills training and individual and family counselling.
- Ensure the safety of all family members by intervening in crisis situations and providing follow-up care.
- Participate in weekly supervision, case reviews, and team meetings to ensure effective Family Support services.
- Report workplace hazards and incidents to their supervisor.
Qualifications
- Degree in Human Sciences, Childcare, or a related field.
- Minimum two to four years' experience working with infants, children, and/or adolescents, and families.
- Family and in-home support experience preferred.
- Case Management experience is preferred.
- Full, non-GDL class 5 driver's license and own transportation required.
