Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Strategic Communications to join our Transportation Systems team in Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communications strategies to support major projects, ensuring social acceptance and regulatory compliance.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned communications professional to take on a leadership role in shaping the narrative around our projects. You will work closely with senior management, clients, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic communications plans to achieve project objectives;
  • Maintain relationships with media outlets, influencers, and other key stakeholders;
  • Provide counsel to clients and project teams on communications strategy and tactics;
  • Manage crisis communications and issues management;
  • Oversee the development of marketing materials, press releases, and other content;
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding;
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communications initiatives and recommend improvements.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

15+ years of experience in communications, preferably in a leadership role;Proven track record of developing and executing successful communications campaigns;Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including English and French proficiency;Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities;Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills;Experience working with multiple external partners and vendors;Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively;High degree of autonomy, organizational skills, and attention to detail.What We Offer

In return for your expertise and dedication, WSP Canada offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as:
