Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilities Maintenance: Ensure that all facilities are clean, tidy, and well-maintained, including hallways, floors, stairs, and bathrooms.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners, sweepers, and other equipment to remove debris and maintain a clean environment.
  • Waste Management: Empty trash cans and other waste containers, and ensure that all waste is disposed of properly.
  • Cleaning and Disinfecting: Clean and disinfect bathrooms, fixtures, and other high-touch areas to maintain a healthy environment.
  • Snow and Ice Removal: Remove snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure safe access to our facilities.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Language Support: Assist newcomers and refugees with language training and skills development.
  • Settlement Support: Provide support with immediate settlement needs, such as housing, transportation, and storage.
  • Integration Support: Facilitate access to community resources, language training, and skills training to support social and labour market integration.
Support for Youth:
  • Youth Employment: Participate in government or community programs that support youth employment.
  • On-the-Job Training: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for youth.
Support for Veterans:
  • Veteran Support: Participate in government or community programs that support Veterans.
  • Mentorship: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Veterans.
  • Transition Support: Assist with immediate transition needs, such as relocation and housing.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Cultural Competency: Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees.
  • Mentorship: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
  • Community Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations.
Support for Mature Workers:
  • Age-Friendly Workplace: Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
  • Mentorship: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for mature workers.
  • Phased Retirement: Provide phased retirement options that allow mature workers to gradually reduce their workload.
Support for Visible Minorities:
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Participate in government or community programs that support members of visible minorities.
  • Mentorship: Offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees.
