Occupational Therapist for Mental Health and Substance Use Services

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in Mental Health and Substance Use Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing occupational therapy assessment, consultation, and interventions to clients with acute and serious mental illness.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments for clients living with mental illness, utilizing recognized occupational therapy assessment tools.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating the self-management model of living with chronic illness.
- Provide education and teaching to clients and caregivers to restore, develop, or maintain functional status.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement standards, procedures, and protocols to ensure clinical objectives are met.
- Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities, as well as research and special projects.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Graduation from an approved school of Occupational Therapy.
- Two years of recent related clinical experience working with clients with acute or serious mental illness.
- Current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.
- Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
- Valid Class 5 BC driver's license with access to a personal vehicle for business purposes.
