Your Role

As an Addiction Therapist, you will be responsible for providing prevention services, developing and delivering education sessions, presentations, and training programs. You will also participate in team and local committees, case conferences, and assist in the orientation and training of new staff.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, Counselling Psychology, or other related field
  • Experience: Two (2) years' recent experience in addictions counselling or equivalent combination of education and experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical counselling and therapy to individuals affected by problematic substance use or addiction
  • Participate in team and local committees, case conferences, and internal and external case consultations
  • Develop and deliver education sessions, presentations, and training programs on addictions and mental health
  • Maintain broad development of the Mental Health and Substance Use profession
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new staff

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of problematic substance use, addictions, mental health disorders, medication side effects, and substance use counselling techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Punjabi, both verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers, including related software applications

Salary

$65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
