Mental Health Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide direct and indirect rehabilitation services to adults with serious and persistent mental illness.
Job Description- Assessment and Intervention: Using recognized occupational therapy and psychosocial rehabilitation tools, you will screen and assess clients' functional capacity, occupational performance status, and environmental supports.
- Rehabilitation Planning: Develops, implements, evaluates, and documents individualized rehabilitation plans in collaboration with clients, their support systems, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Direct Intervention: Provides direct individual and group intervention to support clients in achieving individual goals.
- Consultation and Referral: Provides consultation, referral, and linking support to facilitate clients' effective entry and participation in life skills, education, employment, and leisure programs.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited University and two years' recent experience working with psychiatric clients in an acute or community psychiatric setting.
- Certifications: Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC) and eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists - British Columbia (CAOT - BC).
- Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of current psychiatric (psychosocial) rehabilitation and recovery practices, demonstrated leadership and presentation skills, ability to work in an interdisciplinary team environment, and physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
