About the Role

Ventus Construction Ltd. is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Estimates and Plans

Develop detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects, taking into account building codes and regulations.

Read and Interpret Blueprints

Carefully read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with building codes.

Measure and Prepare Materials

Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to ensure precise fit and finish.

Build and Install Structures

Construct foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to ensure the structural integrity of buildings.

Fit and Install Fixtures

Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure a safe and functional living or working space.

Supervise and Coordinate Work

Schedule and coordinate work on sites, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Train and Mentor Apprentices

Instruct apprentices in the skills and techniques required for carpentry and construction.

Maintain and Repair Structures

Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.

About You

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Carpenter who is able to work independently and as part of a team. You will have a strong understanding of building codes and regulations, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
