About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter - Framing Specialist to join our team at INDUS CONSTRUCTION LTD. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labor and material costs for framing projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with building codes
  • Develop and implement efficient layouts for framing projects, utilizing measuring tools and techniques
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to construct framing components
  • Prepare and submit tenders and quotations for framing projects
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to ensure structural integrity and safety
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware to complete framing projects
  • Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites to ensure timely completion and minimal disruptions
  • Conduct site surveys and level checks to ensure accuracy and precision
  • Provide guidance and instruction to apprentices and other team members to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development
  • Supervise and lead a team of carpenters and other construction personnel to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Estimate costs and materials for framing projects to ensure budgetary compliance and efficiency
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with frequent exposure to heights, confined spaces, noise, dust, and outdoor conditions.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 3-5 years of experience in carpentry and framing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work at heights
  • Reliability and punctuality
